History

Stanford has been offering academic summer programs to students from around the world for over 20 years.

Twenty Years of Experience

The International Institutes (formally known as the Stanford International Youth Program) were created to provide groups of international students the opportunity to experience American college life by travelling to Stanford and engaging in a variety of academic, social, and cultural activities.

Collaborators From Around the World

In past years, participating groups have hailed from Australia, Chile, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Kazakhstan, Singapore, the Navajo Nation, and Taiwan. In each case, the students have contributed to the cultural makeup and helped make the program a resounding success.
